North Bend School District #13 Meetings
The people of Coos County MUST come out and encourage the NB school board to vote NO on this project because of the moral and monetary ramifications to ten other overlapping taxing districts. The NBSD has some of the best school board members who have worked diligently to turn the district around and they have earned the people’s support. Their contact information is below.
The City of North Bend is proposing a multi-million dollar project to the North Bend School Board on February 06, 2025, at the district's regular school board meeting. The Coos County Board of Commissioners already voted down this project on December 03, 2024, because it would cost the county an additional $50,000 out of the general fund.
Of course, that amount was a lie, because now the City of North Bend has stated it would be more like $65,000 coming from the county general fund. Then the city of NB decided to circumvent the BOC by ignoring their rejection of this project and is now trying to convince the NBSB to override the county’s vote. The city only needs 75% approval from the other taxing districts that overlap the UR area.

Find out more by watching the work session where the North Bend City Manager, David Milliron, tries to convince the school board members the proposal is a great project, but the school board members do not seem to be buying what he is selling.

Think of Urban Renewal as a government credit card with the taxpayers footing the bill.
Is the government trustworthy enough for a gold card?
The other taxing districts that pay for the urban renewal debt will not receive those tax dollars to provide the services everyone uses, which means they will have to cut those services or increase taxes. Sounds like a familiar story.
Then one has to consider the racist DEI policies of the North Bend City Council where they give preferential treatment to minorities over the majority of residents. The city also makes businesses sign a DEI loyalty oath if they want to do work for the city.
