Second Amendment Sanctuary Ordinance Withstands Legal Challenge in Columbia County Oregon

Today the Columbia County Court shot down “Everytown For Gun Safety”, Mike Bloomberg’s New York Lawyers, and the usual gaggle of state worshippers and upheld the County’s 2nd Amendment Sanctuary ordinance, an ordinance the county commissioners hoped to torpedo.
We cannot adequately express our gratitude to attorneys Rob Olsen and Tyler Smith, Gun Owners of America, and OFF Columbia County Coordinator Chris Brumbles who made this possible.
This is a victory with national implications and a repudiation to the politics of division that Bloomberg and the gun grabbers are so famous for.
But mostly we cannot ever adequately thank every single one of you whose generous and timely contributions allowed us to fund this extremely important action. We are deeply grateful.
There will be many more battles to fight, but for today pat yourself on the back for making this happen and when you are looking at the challenges on a national level please keep in mind that only one national organization stepped up in this pivotal battle. Gun Owners of America.

Over the concern of the Marxist lead Supermajority in Salem and the Criminals in Washington DC continually passing illegal laws to plunder our Rights and Property, Columbia County Oregon passed the Second Amendment Preservation Ordinance (SAPO) in 2018, and the Second Amendment Sanctuary Ordinance (SASO) in 2020.
It seems that elected employees and their appointee did not like the people stepping up to protect their RIGHTS; something that they should have done themselves but refused. The Syndicate in Columbia County decided to extirpate the will of the voters in a somewhat secretive way as to avoid repercussions.
The County Crooks on the Board of Commissioners along with the County Council Sarah Hanson, decided that since they could not get the SAPO and the SASO in front of a judge for judicial review, they would be tricky and blend the two laws that the people passed, make up a new SASO while throwing out the SAPO, for the purpose of getting their law in front of Judge Grove in order to have him throw it away, therefore leaving their hands clean. We believe this was illegal in several ways.
In the meantime, neither I, being the Chief petitioner of both laws, or any of the thousands of people that signed the petitions to get the Measures on the ballots, had a chance to respond for public comment. You know who did show up for public comment; four radical Marxists from our county, the Attorney General’s Office, and Bloomberg Lawyers from Everytown. It is also looking like Sarah Hanson is the conspirator who called in Everytown.
So, Sarah Hanson, blended our two laws and wrote a crippled version by eliminating the penalties with the word may, and deleting the Severability Clause altogether so that if one thing is wrong with her new sad version, the whole law could get thrown away. She then asked for judicial review in a validation hearing and hinted that she thought the law that SHE wrote was illegal. At some point it looks like Sarah called Everytown in to help her get rid of the SASO.
I have fielded many calls from concerned citizens who are crazy with anger over this outright in your face corruption. Even people who didn’t vote for our laws are not happy that the Cowards of the County did an end around their will. To make matters worse, we have filed papers to intervene to have input, but seem to be being ignored by the court. So, it is looking like the only people who will get to have a voice are these virulent Rights hating Marxists and gun hating extremists.
As usual, the Good Guys play by the rules and win a hard-fought victory only to have the entrenched Criminal Cartel find a way to cheat us. The good news is that Gun Owners of America and Gun Owners Foundation have joined us at Oregon Firearms Federation to fight this injustice. Columbia County is the first County that Everytown has decided to go after the SASO in, which has some version in over 1200 counties across the country.
