Bio For Derek LeBlanc

Derek LeBlanc is the founder and President of the Kids S.A.F.E. Foundation, a 501C3 Nonprofit based in Oregon. Since the founding back in 2016, the Kids S.A.F.E. Foundation has reached over 26,000 kids in 5 states and have taught them lifesaving skills on what to do if they come across an unsecured firearm. It is their goal to reduce childhood mortality to ZERO in regards to firearms accidents inside of the home through proper education. Back in 2019, Derek LeBlanc wrote meaningful legislation in his home state that would have authorized the KSF program in all public schools in Oregon for all first graders. It would have had a huge impact from day one on the safety of our children. It is our hope to try again in the 2023 legislative session. The foundation is currently working on a national expansion that will help us grow, protect more children, and preserve our 2A rights

Another part of our program that is unique is our range program. In coordination with the accident prevention part, we also have a live fire component to what we do. We start children at a young age and teach them safety, responsibility, plus respect for the firearm. It is this important part of our training that helps ensure that they understand the importance of safety at all times. It also teaches the parents the best way for them to continue to shoot with their families. It creates a solid foundation for their continued success. You can find out more about the important work that we do to protect children, donate, or get involved on our website https://kidssafefoundation.org/. You can also find us across all social media platforms. ZERO firearm accidents is the only acceptable goal!!®
