PRESS RELEASE

Today, September 9, 2022, the County Forester ordered the temporary closure of the entire Coos County Forest to all entry, for any purpose whatsoever effective immediately. Fire danger in Coos County is extreme, and closure of the Coos County Forest is necessary for the safety of the public and our forest resources. Effective immediately, the Coos County Forests are closed to all entry. If you see anyone entering County Forests please contact Lance Morgan, Coos County Forester, at 541-404-5351 or the Coos Forest Protective Association (CFPA) at 541- 267-3161. Thank you for your cooperation in this urgent matter. We look forward to reopening the County Forests as soon as it is safe to do so.
