Humble Beginning. Resilient Finish.

Angela Plowhead- U.S. Congressional Candidate Oregon 6th Congressional District (angelafororegon.com)

Angela is no stranger to struggle and lack. She spent most of her childhood being raised by a single mother who worked hard but at times struggled to keep food on the table. Angela rose from poverty determined to make a better life and has never taken basic life necessities for granted.

Dr. Angela Plowhead overcame racial prejudice in school by drawing upon her family values of “rise above” and ”press on.” She is the first person in her immediate family to not only graduate college with a bachelors degree, but to go on to earn a doctorate in clinical psychology from George Fox University.

Angela believes that without the freedoms and opportunities offered by growing up in America, she would not have been able to achieve such heights. Protecting these freedoms to empower all people is of the utmost importance to Angela and Oregonians!

Angela is a down to earth Oregonian, no-nonsense, Clinical Psychologist, Veteran, and small business owner who has committed her career to serving veterans, seniors and people with disabilities. She has been married for over 25 years and is a mother of two.

Angela Takes Action!

Dr. Plowhead opened her behavioral health practice “Capacity Solutions,” to provide services to underserved people who might otherwise not have access to mental health treatment. In order to improve access to care, she produced “Psychology Talks,” a mental health focused television program on a local cable network and YouTube channel teaching people about improving emotional wellbeing.

Angela has been an active advocate, lobbying Oregon and Federal legislators for changes that make real differences in the lives of those she serves, while taking a stand for lowering Oregonians’ tax burdens and protecting constitutional freedoms.

As a mother of a child with special needs, she knows the importance of school choice and for parents to have a say in what their children are being taught. She believes that parents need to be advocates in the best interest of their children, to include issues around curriculum and setting.
