Wanted: County Clerk ~ Must Be Accurate at Counting Ballots

COOS COUNTY HUMAN RESOURCES DEPARTMENT

Our County Clerk, Debbie Heller, has announced her intention to retire effective December 31, 2021; however, her elected term does not end until December 31, 2022. The Coos County Board of Commissioners is actively recruiting to appoint a replacement County Clerk to assume the position duties until December 31, 2022. The Clerk position will be open for election in November 2022.

 The County Clerk is the chief election official of the county responsible for conducting all elections in Coos County and is also responsible for the preservation and management of archives, records and filings maintained in the Clerk’s office. Please review the full position description below.

Candidates interested in being considered for this position should complete a Coos County Application. The Board of Commissioners will hold first review of candidate applications after November 19, 2021.

 This position has excellent benefits. Low deductible health insurance (medical, dental, vision and prescription coverage) with Regence Blue Cross, Blue Shield. No-cost coverage for eligible dependents and spouse. County provided contributions to PERS (Public Employee Retirement System). Position pays $5,147 per month. The Clerk’s Office is located in Coquille, Oregon, and currently operates with a full-time staff of 4 employees.
