The city of Coos Bay Introduces a Race-Baiting Resolution

The city of Coos Bay Introduces a Race-Baiting Resolution

The citizens of Coos Bay have a chance to speak out against a very bad resolution and stop the city from exploiting an even worse situation.

On Tuesday, July 7, at 7pm in the Coos Bay Library, the City Council of Coos Bay is going to consider passing a Resolution 20-19 that appears to be well-intentioned, but it is nothing more than a symbolic gesture geared to appease the mob.  It is the council’s way to virtue signal to the local vocal leftist.  They are “woke” and not above white shaming their constituents for the sins they never committed.

Unfortunately, the measure is just as biased and insulting as many of the proclamations made in the resolution concerning minorities.

The document claims it will help create unity, but it will only sow the seeds of divisiveness.  It implies that the citizens of our city and the nation as a whole are racist by sheer design and that this evil practice is so ingrained into our psyche it is systemic in our policies.  Only the priests of political correctness have the power to exorcise our collective soul from this demon of the Bourgeoisie.

On the contrary, America is the most inclusive and welcoming nation on the planet and that is the main reason people immigrate to our country from all over the world to escape tyrants and dictators.  No other county has sacrificed so much to lift the lives of millions of peoples.  America has liberated nations and saved the world from fascism.

The document states, “the Mayor and City Council are disheartened at the rhetoric, comments, statements, and expressions of hate taking place across the country and are appalled that similar comments and expressions have been made in our community;”

Everyone is disheartened for those reasons, but there is not one word about the rioting, the looting, and all the violence-perpetrated against innocent people.  There was not one word about the cost of all this destruction.  The resolution never mentions victims of the lawless thugs who were terrorizing fellow Americans.  They did not even comment on the historic statues the mob has erased forever.  The city council does not seem appalled by any of these acts of vandalism.  The only thing the city officials were concerned about and appalled by was someone getter their feelings hurt while completely ignoring the real crimes that were committed.

In a finely worded sentence, the city finds the most eloquent way to say that some people of the City of Coos Bay are too damn stupid to understand racism, or how some people in the system treat the “black folk” and “Mexicans.”  The city councilors wrote this, “the Mayor and City Council recognize that individual backgrounds, experiences, and circumstances may inhibit us and others from fully understanding how racism impacts the lives of minorities and People of Color;”  Amazing how educated one must be to find a way to insult so many ethnicities all at once.

Most people understand how hate works and how it affects people because it is an emotion every human has experienced, every human.  It is not exclusive to white people and it is insulting to imply that because someone is Caucasian they cannot empathize with others.   That concept in itself is highly prejudicial.

The city ends with a pledge to, “Support efforts and goals of advancing racial equality, actively and intentionally counteracting racist practices, and the removal of systemic obstructions for People of Color.”

What racist practices?  Which policy of the City of Coos Bay is a systemic obstruction for people of color?  The answer is none of the policies of the city is racist, or the city council would have listed them.

The councilors make many accusations with no substantive evidence.

It is irrational to blame a system for racism.  Only humans have feelings, so it must be people inside the system causing this alleged racism.  Most of the city officials have been with the city for decades, and they do not look like Klan members, but that is what they are implying in their resolution.

The people of Coos County elected Andy Jackson as sheriff when he was also the chair of the Republican Party.  A few years later, the voters elected Andy to the Board of Commissioners where he is fondly remembered and he was able to achieve these goals as a black man, which should demonstrate that our citizens are not racist and neither is our nation.

Was it systemic racism when our nation sent 360,222 union soldiers to their death in the fight for the freedom of black slaves?

Resolution 20-19 lays out these instructions, “Commit to undertaking diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) training by all members of the City Council and all City employees;”

The Mayor, City Councilors and all city employees should already know how to treat people equally and they should already know that they should include everybody.  Most of us learned the “Golden Rule” in Sunday school.  The DEI training is more reeducation and indoctrination into a Marxist agenda and has nothing to do with race relations and the city should reject it.  It only serves to divide.
