Whether you stumbled upon us by accident or had one of our business cards forced on you we’re glad you came by.
Basin Tackle is located in the Charleston Marina which in turn is located in the booming metropolis of the unincorporated town of Charleston Oregon. In fact, I think we are up to something like 200 people now which causes cars to be backed up three or four deep at our stop sign.
Basin Tackle has been in this area in one form or another for over forty years and has served many recreational and commercial fishermen over these years. While we are now strictly a recreational sporting goods store much of the commercial flavor and hustle and bustle still remains in our area. If you are here in mid to late summer you may even be able to buy a fresh caught albacore tuna directly from a commercial fishing vessel!
With friendly, helpful, and somewhat quirky staff and an ever growing collection of friendly, helpful, and somewhat quirky customers Basin Tackle has become something of a local and cultural institution drawing people from near and far (keep in mind that things that grow in petri dishes are also “cultured”). We carry everything you need for salt and freshwater fishing, crabbing, or clamming and the instruction to go with it.
We will never sell you gear and not let you know the how, when, or where to be successful in pursuit of your quarry. We are also very active in instructing sportsmen young or old, new or experienced with our well known clinics that cover a multitude of local species.
Between our in-store staff of active sportsmen and our ever roving band of Basin Tackle Pro-Staff members we have the knowledge and gear to SET YOU UP FOR ADVENTURE AND GIVE YOU DIRECTIONS TO GET THERE!
