My Promise

Before I vote on a bill, my team and I will read it. To consider a yes vote, the bill must agree with the following:

1. It is clearly within the powers listed in Article 1, Section 8 of the US Constitution.
2. The bill is free from pork barrel spending and/or other non-related issues.
3. The bill is fiscally and socially conservative.
4. I will work to reduce regulations, make laws and bills understandable, concise, precise, and single issue.

Jo Rae and her husband George, were married in 1978 and made their home in Albany, Oregon. They have 2 adult married children and 14 grandkids!

Education

Jo Rae earned an Associates of Science degree in business management from Linn Benton Community College in Albany; Certificate in Financial Planning from the Pamplin School of Business at the University of Portland and Bachelor of Science in Political Science, with a minor in Speech Communication from Oregon State University. She is a member of Pi Sigma Alpha, the National Political Science Honor Society.

Professional Background

Jo Rae’s professional background includes experience as a real estate agent, personal banker, financial advisor and insurance agent. She has owned her own financial planning business. Her husband George is a self-employed carpet installation contractor. She has also been active with several organizations over the years in the Albany, Oregon, area. In the past, she was a member of Greater Albany Rotary, Beta Sigma Phi, founding chair of Mid-Willamette Women’s Council of Realtors, Willamette Association of Realtors.

Political Experience

She was President, 1st & 2nd Vice President and Secretary of the Linn County Republican Women. She was also the past chair and is the current delegate of the Linn County Republican Party. Likewise, she has served on committees of the Oregon Republican Party. Jo Rae is an elected Precinct Committee Person who currently serves on the City of Albany Human Relations Commission. Due to her initiation of dialogue, the Human Relations Commission’s 2020 goal is to impact Albany by helping the citizens of Albany learn about the services available to the homeless, those in crises and those in recovery.
